The Village of Chesterhill Council Meeting Minutes June 2, 2008
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Richard D. Wetzel at 7:05 P.M.

The Pledge of Allegiance was spoken by all.
Visitors: Leslie Mansfield, Mr. & Mrs. Chris Cox, Mr. & Mrs. John Cox and Harry Lennox
Motion to accept Minutes from the Regular Meeting May 5, 2008 was made by Barbiel Saunders and 2nd by Tonya Tabler
Motion to pay the bills as presented by the clerk was made by Kathy Smedley and 2nd by Ken Peters
Village Clerk Comments, Audit is scheduled for June 18 thru 20, 2008 here at the office. Money shall be accepted in memory of Clara Howard for the Memorial Park Fund. Office help while clerk is on vacation was discussed.
Village Administrator, Bob Grove, distributed a map and council heard the request of Thomas Road Residents to provide water. Then we discussed the usage and the cost of just paying back a loan for materials and labor. The matter was referred to Water committee and Budget committee for review.
Committee Reports:
Infrastructure: Waste Water / Sewer, Chairman Peters reports the cost of materials is up 20%. Another public meeting will be in July 2008 ** The Grant by Rennslaerville Institute has been received the amount is $3,000.00. ** Curt Mayle approved to remove pine tree in fence row at Park by Charlie Simmons home and tree in front of Councilwoman Saunders residence for $100.00 Motion by Kathy Smedley 2nd by Ken Peters. ** Councilman Peters feels that the position of Village Administrator should be posted and applications taken. ** Councilman Peters is looking for a truck for payments only. He has seen this happening on the news and websites.
Law Enforcement: Councilman Peters performed inspection of the Kathern Nolan case as set by the Magistrate on May 26, 2008 and found no improvements had been made. Now that school is out, our Kids are a major concern of the councilmembers.
Park and Recreation: Mayor to draft guidelines for memorials in the Park. Discussion followed about the Stan Triplet Memorial Stone and where it is to be set. Merry-Go-Round has arrived. Allen Wogan Jr. has asked to use the Ron Shaw Field for practice, games and tournaments.
Marion Community and Recreation Center: Alumni banquet was held there. Some fundraisers are happening. It is time to review the Lease Agreement by Council and Mayor.
Union Hall Theater: John Wetzel submitted expenses as read by the clerk. A Motion by Kathy Smedley and 2nd by Tonya Tabler to allow expenditures not to exceed $1,500.00.
OLD BUSINESS: Trash Clean Up ended May 15, 2008. The response to old tires was overwhelming. A total of 2 dumpsters and 1796 tires were collected. Total cost of $3,456.25 was split with Marion Township. Village total cost is $1,728.13.
NEW BUSINESS: Ordinance 2008-6-2 to establish Broadband as a utility was passed to second reading. ** Resolution 2008-6-2 to show intent to place a Levy on the November ballot for Chesterhill Fire Department was motioned by Ken Peters and 2nd by Barbiel Saunders. ** Resolution 2008-6-3 to show intent to place a Levy on the November ballot for Union Cemetery was motioned by Barbiel Saunders and 2nd by Tonya Tabler.
ALL ABOVE MOTIONS CARRIED.
