That would be George Newburn and Cori Kaye Braglin.
George Newburn was born at Elliott Crossroads Feburary 26, 1914. The first son and second child of Austin and Lillian Dike Newburn.
He attended school at Elliott Grade School for 8 years and graduated from Chesterhill High School in 1932. Attended Ohio State University 1935-1938 receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture..
The best thing that ever happened was when he wed Mildred Johnson. June 22, 1938. Mildred was a hair dresser in their home and a good farm helper and gardener. They had no children.
George taught Vocational Agriculture at Raymond and York Center in 1939 and at Amesville 1940-1943.
Joined the Navy in 1943 spending 2 years & 2 months in the Pacific Fleet as a radar specialist.
He taught “Veterans On The Farm” about the same as Vocational Agriculture 1947-1955. in the Amesville area.
George and Mildred operated a Dairy Farm milking Jersey cattle. They built a barn with 10 stanchions on the homestead at Fitch Road in 1948. Gave up dairy farming in 1965.
George returned to teaching in 1967 at Chesterhill Elementary School where he was principle. Attended Ohio University to update teaching certificate in 1968. George taught at Pennsville Elementary School for one year 1969. In 1970 George came back to Chesterhill Elementary School where he taught 5-6-7 and 8th grades. The subjects were language, spelling, science and current events until his retirement in 1978.
George and Mildred joined Todds United Methodist Church 1962.
They traveled 16 tours to points of interest in USA, Canada and Europe.
Mildred passed away in June 7, 1994. At that time George built the addition to Todds United Methodist Church in Mildred’s memory.
George at the age of 92 years is still living on the farm where he and Mildred were married in 1938. He is active in many clubs and groups. George works around the farm everyday, still drives and walks daily

. Cori Kaye Braglin is almost 5 years of age. She was born Feburary 27, 2002. Cori is great-great niece of George Newburn.
Cori spends every weekend with her grandma, Kaye Appleman village clerk, on the same farm as George.
